Please refer to our Boats & Prices for a complete list of what is / is not included in your charter.

Q. 2) Do I need advanced reservations?

Unfortunately some of our clients have waited until they have arrived here in Puerto Vallarta to secure their reservations and have not been able to have the vessel they wanted or the specific date they wanted.  We always recommend booking in advance to avoid disappointment.  There is never a slow fishing season here in Puerto Vallarta.  All that is required to secure your reservation is a deposit of $150. Your reservation confirmation will be sent by email. The balance must be paid in cash prior to boarding on the day of your departure. This amount may be paid in Mexican Pesos or U.S. Dollars.

Q. 3) What is your cancellation policy?

Any cancellations (for any reason) made with more than (30) days notice - deposit will be refunded in full, less a $25 administration fee per fishing day reserved. Please allow 7-10 business days for funds to be returned from date of cancellation request that has been submitted via email to our company.  Cancellations (for any reason) made less than (30) days prior to departure are non-refundable. Any amount forfeited due to cancellation will be held "on account" for a period of one year from date of cancellation, less an administration fee of $50. If you book another trip with us within this one-year period, this amount will be credited toward the price of your trip. See also FAQ 13 below. If your charter has been reserved through a third party (ie. travel agency, travel agent, etc.) the deposit used to secure the charter(s) are non-refundable and will not be held on account.  If the fishing party does not show up at the scheduled time and location of departure and does not call our emergency line we will consider the charter to be a no-show, the deposit will be forfeited and the charter will be cancelled.  The deposit will not be refunded.  The captian will wait for a period of one hour after the scheduled time of departure.  If the fishing party has not contacted us on our emergency line (listed in the Confirmation Email) within the one hour period from the scheduled time of departure the deposit will be forfeited and the charter will be cancelled.

Q. 4) What is your bad weather policy?

When the sea gets too rough, the port will close and no boats can go out. In the event this happens, we can reschedule your trip if possible for another day during your vacation (if the vessel you chartered is available) or give you a refund. However, if the port is open, we will still go out - rain or shine.

Q. 5) If I have a problem who do I address?

Please keep complaints to yourself (just kidding). The owner of fishinpv.com is always available to settle any grievances. We will do what we can to make sure you are happy with our service.  If you have a grievance please call us or email us.  If we do not receive your personal complaint via email to our company (excluding external sources i.e. Paypal, credit card holders) within 3 days of your charter we will consider your experience with us to be complete and a refund in full or in part will not be issued.

Q. 6) Do you have a catch and release program?

Yes, as members of the Billfish Foundation we encourage all anglers to practice conservation. Let the crew know that you want your fish released.

^ TOP

Q. 7) Do you guarantee that I will catch fish?

Unlike some of the others that make this claim we can't guarantee that you'll catch a fish. However our catch rates are impressive: 70% of the time on 4 hour charters, 80% on 6 hour trips, and 95% of the time on 8 hour or all day excursions. It is rare for a fisherman to go home empty-handed. Just remember, if you always caught something it wouldn't be called fishing, it would be called catching.  If you are planning to come specifically to fish here in Vallarta we recommend calling us and we will recommend the best times of the months throughout the year that will increase your chances of catching.

Q. 8) What trip should I take for the best fishing?

It will depend on a variety of factors
- How much time do you have?
- What is you budget? (see Boats & Prices )
- What is in season? ( see Fish Calendar )
- What location you choose ( see Fishing Sites )

Q. 9) What can I do with the fish I catch?

Your catch will be cleaned and prepared for transport by the crew. If you wish to have your catch frozen to bring home with you we offer a free freezing service.  Your catch will be delivered either to your hotel or to the airport the day you depart Mexico.  You may supply your own cooler or ask us to supply one, at the cost of the cooler, to transport your catch home. Bringing fillet into the US is not a problem as long as it's well-frozen and in a leak-proof container.

Q. 20) What happens if I don't show up for my charter?

Good question! We will attempt to contact you at the hotel/by the reservation information/contact information you sent to us.  If we are unable to contact you via email or by phone (the emergency number indicated in the confirmation email) the morning of your charter, the captians of your chartered vessel will wait a period of one hour from the scheduled time of departure.  If you do not show up within the one hour period then we will consider your charter as a "no show".  "No show"'s renounce any rights, cancellations, refunds or priviledges as normally set out in our agreements.  If any client does not show up, call us, or contact us via email before the one hour period has lapsed we will consider that to be a forfeit of your charter, deposit, lunches, etc.  Any dollar balance owing, as acknowledged by acceptance of the confirmation email, will be due by the client to complete the contract they agreed upon by accepting/acknowledging the confirmation email sent to them.  We renounce any responsibility for any client after he/she has acknowledged the confirmation email sent by www.fishinpv.com in that if they do not arrive at given pick up point, arrive at given pick up point on time as stipulated in the confirmation email (which has been acknowledged by client), or do not board the proper boat as said in the confirmation email (deposit boat information is attached to all confirmation emails, we do not specify names of boats).  We apologize for any inconvenience these stipulations may cause.
